At Maleku, we pay homage to the indigenous Maleku tribe of Costa Rica, renowned for their exquisite handcrafted art, rich culture, and unwavering commitment to preserving their heritage. With just 600 tribe members remaining, their legacy is at risk of fading away. We take inspiration from their resilience and proudly carry the Maleku name.
I’m Roberto, I also go by Beto. Born and raised in Costa Rica, my culinary journey began alongside my parents in the kitchen, and it led me to culinary school and international competitions. But it was my move to Minnesota, where family gatherings and cherished meals are central to our culture, that inspired me to share a piece of home.
Maleku is our mobile coffee and empanada bar, serving handcrafted espresso drinks and homemade empanadas. Our recipes are family treasures passed down through generations. Join us in savoring life’s simple pleasures, and celebrating the Maleku spirit. Pura Vida! – Capi Capi!
